TOP 5 REASONS WE LOVE PACIFIC NORTHWEST APPLES

Here at Evolution Fresh, we love when apple season reaches its delicious peak. Enjoying that just-picked-from-the-tree taste. Getting lost in the endless maze of orchards. Whipping up our favorite apple recipes. If you can’t tell by now, we’re pretty passionate about apples—and making tasty apple juice. That’s why we get our apples from the best growing region in the country: the Pacific Northwest. It’s there, in the bordering orchard towns of Yakima Valley, Washington, and Hood River, Oregon, where we source the ripest apples available to craft our exclusive five-apple blend. After many tastings, we found the perfect flavor combination of Red Delicious, Gala, Fuji, Granny Smith and Honeycrisp apples. Sip after sip, these juicy apples have created a craveable taste that Evolution Fresh Apple Juice lovers everywhere can’t stop talking about. So what makes the apples from these orchard towns so special—and so irresistible?

1. They’re grown in powerful, nutrient-rich volcanic soil

With its extra nutrients and ability to retain more water, volcanic soil provides the perfect environment for apple trees to do their magic. Because Hood River is home to the inactive volcano Mt. Hood, its volcanic soil is au naturel. As for Yakima Valley? Its soil turned volcanic after nearby Mt. St. Helens erupted in 1983, blowing volcanic ash its way. Now with a top layer of volcanic soil, Yakima Valley’s growing conditions have never been better.

2. Yakima Valley is graced with over 300 days of sunshine

With 300+ days of bright sunshine every year, Yakima Valley’s lush apple trees shine under these sunny conditions. So forget your umbrella and grab your sunglasses. In this part of Washington, you’ll need them. Yakima Valley’s picture-perfect growing conditions have even earned it the nickname “The Fruit Bowl of America.”

3. Apple trees quench their thirst with pure mountain snow water

When mountain snow melts, the water flows to the fields below. Because both Hood River and Yakima Valley are nestled below major mountains, water doesn’t have to travel very far to reach their orchards. Mt. Hood alone gets an astonishing 500 inches of snow every year. Yakima Valley gets an extra 100 inches of snow and rain from its local mountains. Through an elaborate irrigation system, Yakima Valley’s apple trees are able to soak up the pure mountain water to grow its irresistibly juicy apples.

4. The Pacific Northwest is home to an abundance of apple varieties

With 30+ apple varieties, Evolution Fresh is lucky to be close to all these crisp, mouth-watering apples. To create our tasty five-apple blend, we sampled and resampled every type of apple to find the perfect combination that apple juice drinkers everywhere keep coming back for. We’ve found so much to love in Pacific Northwest apples that we even use them in our other juices such as Sweet Greens and Lemon, Defense UpTM and Emerald Greens, just to name a few.

5. Each and every Pacific Northwest apple is handpicked

The ripe, delicious apples we use to make our juice don’t fall far from the tree. Actually, they don’t fall at all. Each one is handpicked for quality and ripeness. Only those at their flavorful peak make it into our pure, never-watered-down apple juice. That’s right: Evolution Fresh Apple Juice is all apple.
